Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday was a gorgeous day! The weather was perfect for an Easter Egg Hunt. The kids enjoyed being with cousins, hunting for eggs, playing basketball, riding the 4-wheeler, target shooting with BB guns, and being outside all day!

iJump with Cousins

We went to iJump in Idaho Falls with Abbie, Avery, and Jette on Friday. The boys love being with their cousins and it was fun for the parents & grandparents to watch. Gavin especially enjoyed the dodgeball area. I loved that there was a nice area for anyone under 48 inches tall. We got an ice cream cone at Arctic Circle on our way back to Blackfoot.

Crawdad Fishing with Grandpa

We got to Blackfoot and had a quick lunch waiting for us. Then the big boys, Spencer, and Grandpa went to Rose Pond to go crawdad fishing while the twins, Granny, and I went to get groceries at Walmart.

Dubois, Wyoming

Driving to Blackfoot from Riverton, WY, we stopped at a gas station for treats. We chose the gas station based on their sign declaring the "largest jackalope display" and they weren't kidding!

Martin's Cove & Independence Rock

We went to Martin's Cove yesterday. It was a bit of a drive so I was kind of hesitant to force the kids back in the car. But I'm so glad we did. It truly makes you appreciate the pioneers, their sacrifice, and it makes their trek a little more real to the kids. We ate a picnic on the lawn and then walked along the trail for a while. We especially enjoyed seeing the bridge that Nate helped build with Kami's dad. We definitely miss Nate.

After we left Martin's Cove, we drove a short distance to see Independence Rock. This historical site was a landmark for the pioneers. If they got to the Rock before the 4th of July, they had a better chance of good weather on the last part of their trek to Salt Lake City. Many pioneers climbed the rock and carved their names into it. Spencer and Kami climbed it. I stayed on solid ground with the kids.

Spring Break

It's spring break. So spencer took the week off of work and we loaded up the car with lots of stuff and drove to Wyoming to visit friends. Yesterday we shot guns and went to some hot springs in Thermopolis. Then we stopped at an A & W for dinner, root beer, and ice cream. Today we're going to Martin's Cove. Tomorrow we'll drive to Idaho to spend the rest of the week with grandparents and cousins.

Pee Wee Football Champs!

***Please be patient with the author of this blog who has been enjoying life instead of blogging about it...She is trying to get caught up.There may be gaps of time between posts because I believe in post-dating and will continue to get caught up by post-dating.***

Cameron had the greatest experience as a first-year football player.  His coaches were upbeat and positive most of the time.  They really taught him to love the game!  Because they won their division, they got huge trophies and had a fabulous end of the year banquet. The coaches were brothers and the one on the right does Christian Rap...so he wrote the team a rap that said each of the players names.  Cam's part said, "You know I'm not a liar, he'll run you over big, he's BIG DOG CAMERON STYER!"

Trophies and gift bags for each player.

(Greg Hughes, State Representative, who promised the team that he would take them to meet the Governor and to the opening session of Congress!)

After the big game with some of #92's biggest fans.
Cam had a great support system...in fact, both sets of grandparents, many friends, and every single Uncle & Aunt (except one) came to at least one game.  We are already looking forward to next season!
