30 Weeks!!!

The shower that was given to me in Idaho Falls was wonderful. So many family members and friends (whom I've missed so much since moving to Utah) came. It was so nice to see you all, to hold your babies, to visit and catch up on the latest in your families, and WOW was I spoiled?!? We got so many lovely gifts for these babies. I really feel blessed to have you all as friends/family. A few photos:

I forgot to mention that Cameron went to Cub Camp a few weeks ago and loved it. Here's a picture of him the first morning:

I am now officially 30 weeks. I told Spencer that if we ordered something from an informercial, chances are that the babies would get here before the product (you know how they always say, please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.) My doctor won't commit to a date yet but I'm now telling people that we only have 6 weeks left. Maybe that's optimistic since 6 weeks puts us right around Labor Day and I'm 99% sure that my doctor won't deliver me until after the long weekend. We have a super-ultrasound this week. I'm excited to see the size of the babies because I feel like they are HUGE. I am now measuring at 47 cm. Random people in stores, elevators, at the deli in Wal-Mart, etc ask when I'm having my baby. I always try to smile and say, "Yes, I'm big enough to be having a baby any minute but we're expecting twins so we still have about 6 weeks." Lots of them will say they are sorry that I have to go through the hot summer or ask me if I'm miserable. Lucky for me, although it has been a little warm this summer, I generally go from an air conditioned house to an air conditioned car to an air conditioned store so the heat hasn't really bothered me too much. And generally speaking, I'm not miserable. I try to keep a positive attitude and I think that helps. Sure, I have my down days and I hate the fact that my friend/Visiting Teacher had to sweep my floors this week because I cannot bend over to pick up anything but I'm so grateful that I have friends who are constantly asking what they can do to help and a husband who carries things up the stairs for me or runs back down the stairs if I forget something and a mother who cleaned my basement yesterday. See I'm lucky and blessed! And I only have 6 more weeks left!

My mom and dad kept Gavin & Owen at their house for 5 days last week. The boys got to spend lots of time with their cousins, go to the zoo, play at multiple parks, have numerous picnics, and basically get spoiled by Granny for a while. While they were gone, Grandma & Grandpa Styer called and asked if they could have Cameron for a couple of days. They took him to the Kennecott Copper Mine and trout fishing and he spent 2 nights at their house. I was completely alone for 2 full days! Cam came home Wednesday and Gavin & Owen returned home Thursday. Granny spent Thursday night, then left Friday afternoon and took Cameron to Idaho for the next few days. Granny & Grandpa are taking Cameron & Abbie to the Playmill Theater and I'm SO jealous. I'm sure they'll do a lot of other fun things too. My kids have wonderful grandparents and they have had a fun summer vacation spending time with them! Here are pics of Cam on his adventure with the Styer Grandparents.

You're Invited...

My fabulous family is throwing me a baby shower this weekend in Idaho Falls. If, by some chance, we missed getting you a formal invitation, consider yourself invited. It's being held at my cousin's house (for obvious reasons I'm not posting her address.) If you want to come, get in touch with my mom or leave a comment and I'll send you the address. I'm looking forward to seeing many family and friends. Hope to see you!

28 Weeks and Counting

We have been busy having a lot of fun. If you haven't already noticed, I just added a few backdated posts below this one so if you want to know what we think is "fun", scroll down and see what we've been up to.

I am now 28 weeks along in this lovely pregnancy of the twins. I still feel quite awesome. Other than extreme tiredness, my limbs occasionally falling asleep and little trouble sleeping due to aching hips, life is pretty good. I am measuring at 44 centimeters!!! We have verified and re-verified that one of these babies is in fact a girl and they are both growing well. At the last ultrasound, their measurements put them at the 70th and 72nd percentiles. They are still measuring 7-10 days ahead of schedule so we're planning on a September delivery, probably right around Labor day, if things continue on this path.

To keep cool lately, we've been spending time at the pool. I recently let each of the boys choose a water toy from Wal-mart. It was the best $6 I ever spent as each child now has their independence to move about as they feel. Cam chose a noodle, Gavin chose a Turtle-shaped floating tube, Owen chose one shaped like a monkey. After we blew them up the first day Owen turned to Gavin and said, "I will call mine Monk and your's Turd." I couldn't help but laugh. (Gavin is trying to teach himself to swim so there aren't any pics of Turd, unfortunately.)

4th of July Celebrations

Because the 4th was a Sunday, Spencer got Monday off from work too so we had a long weekend and wanted to make the most of it. I keep saying that I don't know how much longer I'll feel like taking the kids places and we all know that once the twins are born, the get-up-and-go option will no longer be as easy so we're trying to live our summer to the fullest and do as many things as possible.

Friday we decided to take the kids to Toy Story 3 in 3D. Owen was not thrilled to be wearing the 3D glasses but did pretty good. Gavin has been getting nervous a crying whenever he sees bullying so he was not a fan of "Lotsa" and wanted to leave in the middle of it but after a quick round of musical chairs so he could sit by me, he was fine. Cam, Spence, & I enjoyed the movie. It's a little touching, I was surprised.

We hadn't quite decided what to do on Saturday. We'd considered taking a drive to Antelope Island or through the Alpine Loop or somewhere we could take a picnic and just be together. Then Callie reminded Spencer that the Cache Valley Cruise-In was going on that weekend (they are both car fanatics) and that set our plans in motion. I quickly called Julie, my roommate from Logan, and asked if we could come for an impromptu visit. Since they didn't have anything going on that day, she readily agreed. We packed up our picnic food and got on the road. We drove to Brigham City before the kids started saying they were hungry. We stopped at a little park that Spence knew of from when he was a kid. It was nice to just get out of the car for a little bit, let the kids play on the toys, eat, and I enjoyed the shade the entire time.

Driving through Sardine Canyon does wonders for my soul...I LOVE CACHE VALLEY! It just feels good. We drove to Julie's and then Spence & Cam went back to the car show. Cam is finally at the age that he likes to be with his dad, doing "boy" things, feeling like a grown-up, etc. They took a lot of pics of their favorite cars. It was the first time in years that Spencer has gone to the car show and it used to be one thing he looked forward to every year so I was so glad he got to see it this year. I completely enjoyed catching up with Julie, watching our kids play together (James & Gavin are 3 weeks apart, William & Owen are 2 months), eating pizza with them, and stopping at Charlie's for a milkshake. We saw many fireworks from different cities as we drove south on I-15. What a way to celebrate!

Monday we were invited to a BBQ and water party with our good friends, the Hertzlers. Jeff had set up their water slide and new pool and the kids all had a great time cooling off in a variety of ways. They also jumped on the trampoline and played with toys downstairs. Spencer even took a turn on the trampoline and he & Jeff went to the driving range to hit a bucket of balls. Once again, I was happy to simply visit with Alyssa in the comfort of their home. Thanks for a great time.

We took A LOT of pics this weekend so instead of posting them all, here's a slide show for you to enjoy at your convenience:
