Bear Lake Vacation

We spent last Friday and Saturday in Bear Lake with my parents, Emily & Jeff, and Callie and her friend, Lindsey. We camped out Friday night and spent all of Saturday at the "beach." It was so much fun and the adults all came home with sunburns. (We are now in various stages of peeling.) Owen was a little nervous around the water at first but after he got strapped into a life jacket he had no fear. Cameron and Gavin played in the water the entire time, only stopping for a minute to eat lunch. It was a vacation that probably become a summer tradition. It was truly relaxing! Following are A LOT of pictures...there are actually a few more I was going to post but everytime I tried to "upload" them, Blogger would freeze. I'll figure it out and post them at a later date. Until then...

American Idol Concert

I went with Callie, Emily, and my mom to the American Idol Concert in SLC on Monday evening. It was UNBELIEVABLE! The top 8 performed 3 numbers each, then David Archuleta performed 4 numbers and David Cook performed 5. They also sang 2 group numbers. All of them (except Ramiel) sounded and looked better in person than they did on TV. Archuleta got a little emotional because of the crowd.

Tickets to the show...$65,
Gas to get to/from SLC...$75
Memories with my sisters and mom...PRICELESS!

It's something I'll never forget. Thanks, Mom, for having the idea and carrying it out. It was completely worth it.

(All 5 members of our family have been fighting Strep this week which is why this post wasn't written Tuesday morning. We're all on the mend now.)

Out with the OLD...In with the NEW

Because of Spencer's new position at work, he really needed to get a new car that looks nicer and gets better gas mileage.

We listed his 1994 Ford Escort Wagon on craigslist and sold it to a 17-year-old girl who was thrilled.

We then bought a 2003 Saturn L-Series that we are so excited about!

Staycation

According to www.urbandictionary.com a "staycation" is a vacation that is spent at one's home enjoying all that home and one's home environs have to offer or a vacation spent close to home. With that said, we have been on staycation for the last couple of weeks or more. I downloaded my camera last night and realized that a few of our adventures had not made it to the blog yet.

The last weekend of June we attended our ward campout held at Heise, 30 minutes away. We set up 2 tents, our family-sized tent and the little boys mini-tent. Owen slept in the big tent, Gavin and Cam in the mini one. We had a lot of fun, went to bed way too late, and ate lots of good food. We bought some glo-stick bracelets at the dollar store...they were the hit of the night and they helped me keep track of the boys as they ran around in the dark. Here are a few pics of the boys that evening. Somehow I got a few pictures of Caden and none of Gavin. Sorry.

The 4th of July was another 2-day party with my entire family. Our little family went to the parade. We sat next to the Manwarings and I was a judge of the marching bands! The very last entry (there were over 100) was the Ammon Fire Department. They handed each of my boys fireman hats. They were able to fill the hats with all of the candy they had collected!

When the rest of the Tew's came up to Idaho Falls we went to Freeman Park and camped out on the hill. Ryan brought dad's grill and we made hamburgers and hotdogs. It was perfect weather and everyone enjoyed the fireworks (except we had a tree in our view and had to scatter when they started.)

Saturday, the 5th was spent at Ross Park. We absolutely love the Lazy River and we all got sun. We ended the day enjoying the fabulous salmon Dad & Ryan caught last month. I seriously have never tasted fish like that before. Mmmm.

Hope you are all having a fun staycation too. It's all we can do with the price of gas, right?

Cameron Gets In Trouble...

Every Thursday we go to Apple Athletic Club where I work in the Treehouse (Nursery) in exchange for my membership. I take the boys and, until a couple of weeks ago, Cameron HATED it! Most of the kids who come in are closer to Gavin's age so Cam gets bored. But 2 weeks ago my supervisor's little boy, Liam, and Cameron realized they were the same age and started playing together. Today they both came out of the bathroom at the same time and claimed they had been "washing their hands." They had a little bit of a sheepish look to them so I went in the bathroom to investigate and found 4 GIANT spit balls on the wall. We made them clean up the walls and floor. They thought it was so funny and, honestly, so did we!

Ahem, I'd Like To Make An Announcement

I really thought our days of moving were over. But at the end of April, Spencer was asked to apply for a manager's position for Platt. After many interviews and trips to SLC (see June 11th post titled, "Vacation Pics") they have offered him the job...SO...We're moving to UTAH! Anyone interested in buying our house?
