I'm a Little Veh-klempt...

Talk amongst yourselves.

I'll give you a topic:

I was sustained as the Primary President in our ward yesterday.

I don't know if I'm ready to discuss it yet.

Deer, LOL, and Ouch!

A few days ago while eating dinner, Spencer noticed something moving out of the corner of his eye. There were 2 deer in our backyard! I took these pictures through the blinds. Not the best quality but if you look close you can see them...

Last weekend our friends, Cliff & Sarah came to Draper. Sarah and I had our hair done by Callie at her school. Sarah got a drastic and cute haircut and a micro-weave. I got some highlights done. It was fun to spend time with Sarah & to see Callie in action. She really is great at what she does. We were both thrilled with our hair.

The boys (Cliff & Spencer) went to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls. Then we got a babysitter and we went on a double date. We went to Wise Guys Comedy Club in West Valley to see a comic named RYAN HAMILTON perform. He was on Last Comic Standing and is known for his cleanliness. I did a little research about him and found out he is originally from Ashton, Idaho and he is LDS. It was so much fun and he was absolutely HILARIOUS! We laughed until our cheeks hurt. There were even a few tears. If you have a minute, check him out at his website www.ryanham.com.

Last night for FHE we spent some time cleaning up the yard. Spencer mowed the lawn and the boys and I picked up twigs, rocks, etc. Then we watched Spence mow. Cameron started playing catch by himself. He'd throw something up in the air and then run and catch it. He was watching the object in the air, not paying attention to what was in front of him, and he ran over Owen. Owen fell face first on the cement driveway, Cam fell on top of him, and they both started bawling. Owen got the worst of it but he is quick to forgive. Ouch!

The Tooth Fairy Strikes Again!

I can't believe I forgot to post about Cameron losing another tooth because the situation in which he lost it was SO unique. Sunday morning before church (we were still in Idaho), Cameron started complaining that the gums around his loose tooth were really hurting. Spencer inspected the loose tooth and said it was probably time to pull it out. So he tried. And he tried again. And again. It was still in there pretty tight. So we left for church. During the Sacrament, Cam started complaining again so Spence took him into the foyer after the Sacrament and attempted to pull it again. Nothing. Then Granny said, "Maybe Uncle Ryan would like to try." Cam walked up to Uncle Ryan's bench and showed him the stubborn tooth that was hanging on for dear life. Ryan knew he only had one chance to get it out before Cam would start crying or make much noise. He pushed it really hard in the opposite direction, then used his fingernail to push it down and into Cam's mouth. Then Ryan said, "Don't swallow it, just go to your mom." Cam was elated! He'd lost another tooth and he'd lost it in CHURCH! (That's 3 teeth in a short 2 weeks if anyone is keeping track.)

Easter Weekend

We were lucky enough to get to spend Easter with Granny Jane, Grandpa Rick, Ryan, No'el and girls. The kids had their annual Easter-egg hunt with the Grandparents. They each got an outfit (plaid shorts and a matching t-shirt), a coloring book, lots of candy, some silly toys and some money! Here is a picture of the kids on the deck with bunny ears on, in their new outfits. Jette was not loving the wind on her face :)

Ryan & I ended up wearing a pair of bunny-ears when Avery and Owen got sick of them.

One of the silly gifts that the kids got was a whistle that looked like lips. Ryan and Abbie did a duet:

Jette is growing up so fast. She likes to be held so she can see what's going on. She's starting to smile and is absolutely adorable!

Thanks for a fun weekend.

The Solution to Sticky Gum on Skin

While we were checking on our house in Idaho Falls, our friends, the Fullmer family, came to visit. One of the kids had some Easter gum and decided to share a piece with Gavin. He loved it and chewed it for a long time...so long that it became really sticky and sort of stringy because it was so soft. When we were finished at the house, we got in the car to go see the Sharps. Gavin decided he was sick of the gum and took it out of his mouth. Suddenly he was covered in gum. It was all over his hands and pants. We searched the internet for a solution to getting it off but didn't find much help. We tried washing hands with an ice cube, using a rag and paper towels to get it off, and I even suggested just letting him play in the dirt. (Yes I realize that was a dumb idea.) Then someone suggested trying WD-40. Can you believe it worked?

Our Arizona Friends

Last week Adrienne and Caden came for a visit from Arizona. While they were in Utah they experienced snow, rain, wind, and a little sunshine. We took the boys to a park on the day that it was semi-nice. Jackets were required due to the wind but the boys still had a lot of fun.

They stayed with us Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights. On Thursday we met Caden's grandparents at a parking lot. After they had transferred their luggage and we'd said our goodbyes and were driving away, Cam was a little emotional and Gavin said, "I wish Caden could live with us forever." It was so good to see them.

Conference Weekend

Awww...how great it is to hear the Prophet and General Authorities speak to us every 6 months. I look forward to it and thoroughly enjoyed it this session. Granny Jane sent the boys packets that had lots of activities for them to enjoy during Conference. It kept them (mostly) busy and quiet. She also sent Conference Bingo for all to enjoy. And we did.

I decided to make a Chocolate Bundt Cake from a Weight Watcher's Recipe so that we could enjoy it throughout conference weekend. After it came out of the oven, the boys really wanted a taste. So I cut one slice and divided it between them. I walked away for only a couple of minutes but came back to this:

Guess it's safe to say that Owen liked it! If you want the recipe, go to our recipe blog. I'll post it there.
