Staycation

According to www.urbandictionary.com a "staycation" is a vacation that is spent at one's home enjoying all that home and one's home environs have to offer or a vacation spent close to home. With that said, we have been on staycation for the last couple of weeks or more. I downloaded my camera last night and realized that a few of our adventures had not made it to the blog yet.

The last weekend of June we attended our ward campout held at Heise, 30 minutes away. We set up 2 tents, our family-sized tent and the little boys mini-tent. Owen slept in the big tent, Gavin and Cam in the mini one. We had a lot of fun, went to bed way too late, and ate lots of good food. We bought some glo-stick bracelets at the dollar store...they were the hit of the night and they helped me keep track of the boys as they ran around in the dark. Here are a few pics of the boys that evening. Somehow I got a few pictures of Caden and none of Gavin. Sorry.

The 4th of July was another 2-day party with my entire family. Our little family went to the parade. We sat next to the Manwarings and I was a judge of the marching bands! The very last entry (there were over 100) was the Ammon Fire Department. They handed each of my boys fireman hats. They were able to fill the hats with all of the candy they had collected!

When the rest of the Tew's came up to Idaho Falls we went to Freeman Park and camped out on the hill. Ryan brought dad's grill and we made hamburgers and hotdogs. It was perfect weather and everyone enjoyed the fireworks (except we had a tree in our view and had to scatter when they started.)

Saturday, the 5th was spent at Ross Park. We absolutely love the Lazy River and we all got sun. We ended the day enjoying the fabulous salmon Dad & Ryan caught last month. I seriously have never tasted fish like that before. Mmmm.

Hope you are all having a fun staycation too. It's all we can do with the price of gas, right?

Yeah, the 4th of July weekend was a lot of fun! I'm pretty excited about the American Idol concert we're going to Monday. Nice countdown clock!
