La-La-Lagoon!

As part of our Rick Tew Family reunion, our parents took us to Lagoon on Saturday, August 14th! It had been 9 years since Spencer or I had gone and our boys have never been so it was FUN! Granny & Grandpa, Callie & Mike, and our family arrived around 11, found a picnic spot for our coolers of food, and headed to the rides. The boys were very patient when having to wait in line and really enjoyed the different rides. Ryan, No'el, and girls got to Lagoon around noon and quickly joined in on the action. Abbie & Cameron were very similar in their choice of rides, they were too tall for the kid rides but didn't want to go upside down on the adult rides. Avery, Gavin, Owen, and Jette loved all the kid rides but soon Gavin started getting a little antsy, WANTING to go upside down. Ryan & Spencer decided to encourage Cam & Abbie to be a little more adventurous. Ryan took Abbie on The Centennial Screamer (against her will.) And she LOVED it! Cam still wanted nothing to do with it. So he and I had a little heart-to-heart and he went on that ride with me. Honestly, he was nearly in tears because he was so nervous but I just told him that he could do hard things. I also told him that I hoped this was the only year that he was scared of the big rides and that I would hold his hand and he could close his eyes if he wanted to. And he did it! And he LOVED it too! Then we went on Colossus, The Spider, and a few other "scary" rides. Gavin is a little daredevil! He wanted to go on all of the big rides too so he joined us. He even went on WICKED! (That is the scariest ride I have ever been on.) Abbie & Cam went on the white roller coaster all by themselves! Even the twins went on a ride...the merry-go-round!  We stayed at Lagoon until the park closed. It was a day packed full of memories & fun for everyone. We really missed the Hardings. They were in Texas at Jeff's brother's wedding :( We are so thankful to my parents for planning this awesome day for all of us.
